Switching is simple.
Step 1: Snap Your Meter Readings
Find your meters and snap clear photos of:
- The meter readings — the numbers on the screen (ignore any numbers in red or after a decimal point)
- The meter itself, making sure the serial number is visible
Why? This helps avoid any dramas with previous occupiers and makes sure you only pay for the energy you use.
Step 2: Get a Quick Quote
Head to our website for a quick quote. If it looks good, you can sign up there, or you can get in touch by phone or email — whatever works for you.
Step 3: The Switch
Once you've signed up, we’ll get you switched over in around 3 days. But your job’s done — we’ll handle everything from here, including telling your old supplier.
In the meantime, they’ll still supply your energy and bill you for anything you used during this short period.
Step 4: Download the Octopus App
- Check your account balance
- Submit meter readings (and spin the wheel of fortune!)
- View bills
- Track your energy usage
- Earn rewards and refer friends
